ABM has been a leading building contractor in the Irish market for 30 years and in that period, has successfully delivered an extensive portfolio of projects across all sectors in the building industry.
ABM has had a particular focus and has established an extensive track record in managing projects where the contractor is responsible for both design and construction. We have designed and built projects primarily in the education, healthcare and residential sectors including over 25,000 teaching spaces and over 600 residential units in addition nationwide delivery of nursing homes on behalf of the HSE and sporting facilities such as the South Stand at Tallaght Stadium.
ABM has also carried out an extensive array of construction projects designed by the Employer across all areas of the market, with recent projects such as the Sports Science Health and Recreation Building at the TUD Tallaght campus, fit-out and refurbishment contracts for TUD Grange Gorman and the National Rehabilitation Hospital, Dun Laoghaire and a second North Stand at Tallaght Stadium.
Considering the overall services that we are providing, including employer led design and design and build construction services, we are now announcing our rebranding to ABM Contractors Ltd.
Our dedicated and talented ABM team will continue to carry forward the excellence in project delivery from our previous identity and provide value to our clients based on our core values where we Build Safely, Build Quality, Build Together and Build for the Future.
The opening of the new North Stand at Tallaght Stadium
ABM were delighted to see the newly finished superstructure of the North Stand in operation for the spectators to enjoy welcoming Dundalk FC at the first match of the SSE League Championship.
The addition of the new fourth stand located at the Tallaght bypass end of the grounds saw the capacity increase to a 10,000-seater.
The newly developed North Stand provides additional 2600 seating capacity to include covered universal accessible seating above pitch level, with an overall footprint area of 1,700 sq.m, and all associated enclosed ancillary floor area of 860 sq.m.
The structural frame comprised of precast concrete sections which include raker beams, columns, terraced units, vomitory walls and 18m span rafters. The roof and cladding frame are also configured with structural steel sections which include feature raked ends at the gables.
Supporters not only have access to the North Stand but also the newly renovated West Stand which now provides extra hospitality and media facilities. Tallaght Stadium can now enter the UEFA category 4 stadium with the possibility of being able to host future European games, including group games for the Champions League or Europa League.
Successful Completion & Handover of Pelletstown Educate Together National School
ABM are delighted to announce the successful completion and handover of Pelletstown Educate Together National School located at Rathborne Vale, Ashtown, Dublin 15 This project was completed under the Department of Education – Design and Build Schools Framework 1 – Lot 1B (2020 – 2021).
The project consisted of the design & build of a three storey, split level school building, Pelletstown ETNS. The new school building facilitates a 16-classroom primary school with a two classroom Special Needs Units. The design also included a general-purpose hall, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation. The school is three storeys with a single storey element. The school also incorporates a rooftop play space, ground floor external play areas and special needs unit play-spaces and an external ball court.
External works included associated car parking, a bicycle shed, an access road, landscaping, connections to public services and all associated site works.
The project was let on a design and build basis and ABM’s role was as Main Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS).

Successful Completion & Handover of Scoil Mhuire Naofa National School, Carrigtwohill Educational Campus, Station Road, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork
ABM are delighted to announce the successful completion and handover of Scoil Mhuire Naofa National School located at Carrigtwohill Educational Campus, Station Road, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork. This project was completed under the Department of Education – Design and Build Schools Framework 1 – Lot 3C (2020 – 2021).
The project comprised of the provision of a new 3 storey primary school building with 24 classrooms and 2 Class Special Needs Units with a physical education hall, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation. The site works to the school grounds will consist of the provision of cycle spaces, bin store/external store, ball courts, playing field, secure special play area, landscaping and new entrance, boundary treatment and all other associated site development works.
The works to the remainder of the school grounds will consist of the provision of car parking spaces, disabled access car parking spaces, drop-off and pick-up facilities. Inline channel and onsite attenuation storage measures will be incorporated into the development to manage flood risk.
The project was let on a design and build basis and ABM’s role was as Main Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS).

Successful Completion & Handover of Stepaside Educate Together Secondary School
ABM are delighted to announce the successful completion and handover of Stepaside Educate Together Secondary School located at Ballyogan Road, Leopardstown, Dublin 18.
This project was completed under the Department of Education – Design and Build Schools Framework 1 – Lot 5A (2020 – 2021).
The project comprised of Phase 1 of a new 11,256 m2, part 1-storey, part 2-storey and part 3-storey 1000 pupil post primary school building with a 4 no. Classroom Special Educational Needs (SEN) Unit, General Purpose Area, PE Hall, ancillary teaching and staff accommodation.
The project also incorporated associated staff car parking, internal access roads, drop-off areas, pedestrian access, bicycle lane, construction of external ball courts, landscaping, connection to public services, ESB sub-station and all associated site works.
The project was let on a design and build basis and ABM’s role was as Main Contractor and Project Supervisor for the Construction Stage (PSCS).

ABM CIF Construction Safety Month October 2023
At ABM Design and Build Ltd, ensuring the Safety, Health, and Welfare of all individuals working on our construction sites is a fundamental principle and at the core of everything we do. As a proud partner of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), ABM organised a variety of workshops and toolbox talks in collaboration with CIF Safety Month October 2023. This year’s Safety Month focused on “Critical Risk”. It aligned with ABM’s Critical Safety Essentials, which we refer to as C.A.S.E. These essentials include Lifting and Handling Heavy Components, Access to work, Excavations, and Working at Height.

Successful Completion of Residential Development at Liscappagh (Cappaghfinn Phase 3), Finglas, Dublin 11.
ABM are delighted to announce the recent delivery and hand over of 69 No. Accelerated Delivery social dwellings and the associated site works at Liscappagh (Cappaghfinn Phase 3), Cappagh Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 on behalf of Fingal County Council.
The development comprised of the design and construction of quality living accommodation with a cumulative total of 33 No. houses and 36 No. apartments, consisting of three-bedroom, five-person, two storey terraced houses: two-bedroom, four-person, two storey terraced houses: and one bedroom, two-person one storey, which sit comfortably in context with the surrounding environment.
The accelerated build method consisted of a structural frame comprising panelised light gauge steel frames (LGSF) with integrated insulated wall panels built off site and delivered flat packed to the site for completion and delivery in a very short time period.
In addition, the residential project has achieved a BER A2 rating using triple glazed, low conductivity, well insulated windows and door, air-tight membranes and are built to a very high standard, meeting the requirements of Fingal County Council.

ABM Design & Build Annual Safety Day 2023
ABM Design and Build Ltd held their Annual Company Safety Day on the 3rd of March last at the Grand Hotel, Malahide.
The event hosted by Philip Weinmann, ABM General Manager comprised of a number of workshops and round table discussions on the importance of safety principles and operations throughout the organisation, to include adopting best practice of Safety First within the culture of our organisation.
Keynote Speaker on the day was Gerry Duffy who is an international speaker in the area of Corporate Performance with particular focus on Effective Leadership and Strategy, Goal Setting and Time Effectiveness.
Gerry’s motivational talk and workshop provided for a very engaging and interactive afternoon for all Staff participating in a number of activities, leaving the team with great food for thought on how to bring forward improvements in Safety Standards across the organisation and implementation of best practice in our day-to-day safety operations.
Other speakers on the day included Ian Hayden, ABM Health and Safety Manager, Shane Ruane, ABM Health and Safety Adviser and Patrick Cronin, Ayrton Group who all gave excellent presentations on key safety topics such as control of risks and hazard avoidance.
Concluding remarks were given by Robert Fraser, ABM Head of Construction and Tim Lennon, Senior Contracts Manager who summarised the key learnings and important takeaways from the day.

Successful completion & handover of Technological University Dublin (TUD) Tallagh campus – Sports Science Health and Recreation building development
ABM are delighted to announce the successful completion and handover of the Technological University Dublin (Tallaght Campus) – Sports Science, Health and Recreation Building Development.
The project consisted of the construction of a Sport Science, Health and Recreation Building containing a single storey state of the art sports hall and teaching accommodation and associated facilities arranged over two storeys plus roof plant areas, total floor area 3,175 sq.m, a grass playing pitch 140 x 90 m with a 1 m high spectator barrier, 12 m high x 25 m wide ball catch nets behind goal posts.
This state of the art Sports Hall will be used for National and Regional sporting events and competitions. Facilities include Archery Net, Badminton nets (6 no.), change rooms benches, Ceiling Mounted Basketball Hoops (2 no. for National, 4 no. for Regional), Dividing net to Sports Hall, Retractable bleacher seating (180 no. seats), Climbing wall.
Lecture seating to classroom space (56 seats), Lockers, Reception Desk, Laboratory work benches and tables.
A new external landscaped quadrangle, pedestrian areas, footpaths and landscaping, linking existing facilities with the development. Building signage, 56 no. covered bicycle parking spaces, covered walkways and demolition of 46 no. existing car parking spaces and associated site works.
Enhanced pedestrian crossing facilities at Greenhills Road access, comprising new raised entry treatment across access and pedestrian refuge island on Greenhills Road with associated road markings and traffic signs The application site is centrally located within the TU Dublin campus, which is bounded by Belgard Road to the west, industrial buildings accessed off Airton Road to the north, Greenhills Road to the east and to the south by Old Blessington Road and the grounds of the Old Priory, Tallaght.

Minister for education site visit to ABM Design & Build Cork school project
The ABM Team were delighted to welcome a visit from the Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, on Friday the 2nd of December 2022 last, to the site for the official sod turning of our new school development, Scoil Mhuire Naofa National School located at Educational Campus, Station Road, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.
The project comprises of the provision of a new 3 storey primary school building with 24 classrooms and 2 Classroom Special Needs Unit with a physical education hall, support teaching spaces and ancillary accommodation.
